Both the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the state of California have regulations to protect construction workers from injury. However, construction remains one of the most dangerous occupations. In some cases, this is because work sites violate safety rules. Among worker deaths in 2014, 1 out of every 5 were in the construction industry.
